Notes/Special Instructions:
If you prefer, you can use homemade whipped cream instead of cool whip to frost the cake. To do so, beat together 1 pint of heavy whipping cream, 3 Tbsp of powdered sugar, and ½ tsp vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 F ( 176 C) Spray or spray a 9x13 baking dish

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, water, eggs and strawberry cake mix. Use an electric mixer to beat together the ingredients on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the toothpick inserted the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: While the cake is cooling, whisk together the evaporated milk,half and half milk and sweetened condensed milk.

Step 4: Using a wooden skewer or fork, poke holes all over the top of the cake. Spacing them about ½ inch apart from each other.

Step 5: Gradually pour the strawberry milk mixture evenly over the top of the cake, allowing the milk to soak in. Cover the cake with plastic wrap or foil and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 to 3 hours, or ideally overnight.

Step 6: Just before serving, spread the whipped topping over the top of the cake and place sliced strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar and garnish.

3 eggs. 1 can evaporated milk
1 cup half and half
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 lb fresh strawberries
1/2 Tbsp sugar
8oz cool whip
