What You'll Need


Gather these simple ingredients to create your festive tree:

  • 1 (13 oz) can of Pillsbury pizza dough

  • 6 mozzarella cheese sticks

  • 1 egg, plus 1 tablespoon of water (for the egg wash)

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley

  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil

  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • Marinara sauce, for serving

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400 F (204 C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Cut dough into 30 approximately equal squares then cut the mozzarella cheese sticks into 1 inch bite size pieces .

Step 3: Add a piece of mozzarella to each square of the dough then form a ball, rolling with your hands to smooth and seal the edges.

Step 4: Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet seam side down in the shape of a tree (check so the balls are touching. Blend the egg and water in a small bowl and lightly brush each ball with the egg wash.

Step 5: Place in the oven and bake for 16 minutes or until golden brown. While the bread is baking, microwave the butter until melted then stir in parsley, basil, garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Brush onto the rolls then serve right away with marinara sauce.

13 oz canned Pillsbury pizza dough

6 mozzarella cheese sticks

1 egg + tbsp water

3 Tbsp unsalted butter

1/2 Tbsp Parsley

1/2 Tbsp basil

1/2 Tbsp garlic powder

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
