Notes/Special Instructions

After frying the pork belly be sure to use some paper towels to remove some of the extra oil, before adding the glaze .

Step 1: In a large pot add chicken broth, minced garlic, minced ginger, wine vinegar, onion powder and sugar. Stir then add pork belly.

Step 2: Bring to boil over high heat, then place lid on, turn down the wheat and simmer for 1 hour. (depends on how thick the pork belly is might need to cook longer)

Step 3: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ginger, honey and chilly garlic sauce. Set a side.

Step 4: Turn off the heat, remove the pork from the pot and pat it dry using some paper towels.

Step 5: Chop the pork into bite sized chunks.

Step 6: Add oil to a frying pan and heat over medium heat.

Step 7: Add in the pork and fry, turning regularly, until the pork starts to turn golden. Be careful as the oil can splatter at this stage ( use a splatter guard).

Step 8: Now pour the glaze over the pork and green onion and continue to cook for a couple of minutes, turning the pork often, until the pork looks dark and sticky.

Step 9: Remove from the heat and serve.

2 lbs. pork belly slices

1 Tbsp rice wine

4 cups chicken broth

4 cloves garlic

1 Tbsp minced ginger

1 Tbsp brown sugar

Ingredients

2 Tbsp brown sugar

3Tbsp dark soy sauce

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 Tbsp honey

1 Tbsp garlic chili sauce (more if you like it super spicy)

3 green onions (chopped)
